Project Description
Morrison Walk Presentation Centre by Creo
Morrison Walk is located in the Moodyville area of North Vancouver. In addition to ‘Morrison’ and ‘Morrison on the Park’ this project is phase 3 of the community development by local family developer, Creo Developments. It will feature a communal courtyard and amenity space which will focus on bringing community together. Surrounded by nature and access to parks and trails, as well as sizeable rooftop patios and decks, the outdoors are an important element to the design
Given the close proximity to nature, the great outdoors in North Vancouver became the interior design inspiration for this project. House of Bohn designed three beautiful schemes inspired by nature: The ‘Cloud’ scheme references the white and oak scheme; the ‘Mountain’ scheme references the grey and oak palette, and the ‘Forest’ scheme references the green and walnut palette.
Each scheme was created with a material palette that embraces wood tones, stone-textured countertops, and beautiful bathroom tiles that nod to rocky landscapes.
In the concept phase, the design team imagined a home that was carefully curated with sculptural and textural elements that introduced a “global” flavor to the space. While the palette was inspired by nature locally – rich hues of green, earthy browns, and generous wood and stone textures – the furniture and art direction took a much more worldly approach.
Rather than stark whites and clean lines, this space showcases playful forms such as the sculptural green velvet dining chairs, the carved wood floor mirror and textured green marble coffee table.
The bathroom is finished with a dramatic green and gold hand-painted wallpaper, and the space further evokes the sense of texture and playfulness.
Overall the design intent showcases the functional and efficient townhouse space, while also creating drama through memorable design moments.
