Project Description
Caledon
Situated on 100 acres of sprawling greenery and trees, the ultra-modern house (designed by Kariouk Architects) needed an equally edgy modern interior to match—which is where Bohn’s team came in.
“Bringing the outdoors indoors was a no-brainer,” says Bohn, who knew the kitchen, open to the dining room and living room, had to be green. They stained the oak millwork a deep forest green and selected a green marble for the countertops and backsplash. HOB chose to finish the entire ceiling in natural wood, to channel the modern cabin look, and it paired well with the architecture’s exposed black metal beams. Durable concrete tile will stand the test of time underfoot, while plush furnishings and thick, woven textures further relate the cozy Canadian cabin feel. In the master bath, wall-to-wall marble porcelain tile brings out the home’s luxe natural drama yet feels all natural in the rugged forest environment.
