Project Description
Lelem’ Arts and Cultural Cafe Fort Langley
House of Bohn was brought on to design the space to be warm and inviting. The space had to reflect the core values of the Seyem’ Qwantlen group which included a strong sense of community, family, a place of gathering and sustainability. A couple other elements that the design was to incorporate was traditional long house aesthetics, plank house aesthetics, Seyem’ Qwantlen history and West Coast aesthetics.
In addition to a café, the space was to be flexible enough to act as a community center that can accommodate the needs of Fort Langley, as well as Seyem’ Qwantlen who also intended to use the space for their own culturally-rich classes.
