Point Grey Renovation
This 3,200 SQFT full home renovation transforms a 1920s character house into a layered, personality-driven home for a busy family. Every space, including three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two powder rooms, and multiple specialty areas, was reimagined to balance timeless charm with modern functionality. The client’s refined style made this a deeply collaborative process focused on their distinctive aesthetic.
Inspired by classic London flats, the design blends traditional architectural detailing with contemporary finishes, retro-inspired furnishings, and curated vintage pieces. The home’s moody gentleman’s lounge sensibility is softened with playful touches and bold color, creating spaces that feel sophisticated yet warmly lived in. Rich textures, deep hues, expressive stone selections, and layered materials add depth and collected charm throughout.
The kitchen serves as the family hub, featuring walnut-stained oak and blue cabinetry, blue zellige tile, integrated appliances, brass accents, and checkered stone flooring that combines old-world elegance with modern functionality. Secondary spaces are equally considered. The laundry and mudroom pair practicality with elevated design, while the theatre, home office, and gym offer dedicated atmospheres that maintain the cohesive lounge-inspired feel. Stone is used throughout the home for subtle drama and tactile richness, from the dark green marble fireplace in the living room to the Rosso Levanto slab shower in the primary ensuite, adding both luxury and sculptural impact.
The completed Point Grey Renovation celebrates character, craftsmanship, and individuality. By layering eras, textures, and influences, it creates a timeless and vibrant retreat designed to evolve with the family.
