Project Description

London Calling at Woodward

For the ‘LONDON CALLING’ display home – a 2-bedroom, 2 bathroom townhouse – House of Bohn imagined a muse millennial couple who are first-time home buyers. Our muse couple are vibrant young professionals who work in creative fields and this home is an expression of their artistic flare.

Inspired by the bright and playful design aesthetic that can be found throughout the UK, London Calling is a modern and light-filled home, offering moments of color and layers of pattern. Friends of our muse couple would describe the interior design style as “playful, bold and whimsical, mixed with a dash of daring.”

White is used as a base palette throughout the interior design to keep the space feeling fresh and youthful. Custom ribbed white millwork is the foundation for the TV unit in the living room, the credenza in the dining room, side tables in the primary bedroom, as well as the millwork in the home office. This textured white millwork is layered with whimsical and patterned wallpaper which is installed in virtually every room. The wallpaper is punctuated with pops of bold color, whether it’s with graphic art, décor pieces sprinkled throughout the home, or the pop of the dusty pink paint color on the living room wall.

Furniture also exudes a playful aesthetic. The custom velvet teal sofa in the living room is complimented with a custom stripped ottoman. This same striped fabric is carried onto the dining room chairs which are refurbished vintage pieces, and the dining room is finished with a whimsical white floral chandelier.

The primary bedroom is layered with green hues, a variety of stripes, and a whimsical custom headboard, while the guest bedroom is a warm, buttery yellow oasis. Color, pattern and playful pieces are incorporated throughout the space, intentionally pulled together with a masterful hand ensuring that while playful and fun, the display home still feels sophisticated and modern – just like a hip London flat.
