DATE NIGHT TABLE DECOR

INSPIRATION

I am so excited to share with you my at home summer date night oasis tablescape. Since we are spending much more time at home, there is no better time to transform a space in your home into your own personal oasis. The jumping off point for my tablescape was actually a white wine! Stoneleigh’s Sauvignon Blanc is known for its renowned tropical fruit flavors which was the inspiration for my table decor. I incorporated grapefruit, lemon and orange and pulled these colors throughout to create a really fun, casual and relaxed feel.

THE UNEXPECTED

You know me, I love the unexpected and unconventional. Layering different patterns and colors can make the table feel really dynamic and lush while still relaxed. I grounded the tablescape with these beautiful brown leather place mats and placed a taupe dinner plate with a bright yellow salad plate on top. The cutlery added another element of the unexpected with the black and white striping on the handle which tied into the black fruit bowl. You wouldn’t think of black to be a color used for a summer tablescape, but adding black in amongst all the color added an element of edginess. One of my favorite pieces on the table were the patterned  floral napkins with pink, mustard, and navy that tied into all of the colors at the table. Another great way to layer is to add in a bunch of different candles of all shapes, colors and sizes which made this tablescape feel very romantic (Here, Here and Here).

TIPS & TRICKS

As opposed to adding a floral arrangement as a centerpiece directly in the middle of the table, I love adding a dramatic centerpiece off to the side like I have done here. Adding clusters on a table creates a more layered and interesting tablescape instead of one focal point. It is great to have volume and drama on one end and this way, you can see across the table and it feels more functional.
